- Monroe is the home of the Evergreen Speedway, Evergreen State Fairgrounds, and an equestrian park, and is the largest city along Highway 2 between Everett and Wenatchee. Seventeen parks possessing a myriad of amenities and of sizes from one acre to a 90-acre preserve blanket the area.
- Beautifully encapsulating both past and present, Monroe is a celebration of resources. Many agricultural interests, such as dairy farming, truck and berry farming, livestock ranching, horse breeding and tree farms dot the landscape, filled in with a backdrop of mountains and cut through with rivers and ancient fir forests.
- The major event of the region, the Evergreen State Fair, starts with the Monroe Annual Fair Days Parade, featuring everything from marching bands to show horses and antique vehicles.
