- Ballard Avenue was originally the commercial district but has now diversified as have the residents of this town. Find art spaces, bars, shops and music venues of all persuasions.
- Home to the century-old Ballard Locks, this feat of engineering serves ships passing through and provides ladders, viewable from the underwater observatory, for the beloved migrating salmon as well.
- Golden Gardens Park is where to be each summer. It features a rare sandy beach, barbecue pits, volleyball courts, and grassy areas for picnicking and kite flying. And on Sundays everyone hits the Ballard Farmer’s Market for local fresh produce and artistic treasures.
